Fire Safety Policy (FSP)

Every business should have a Fire Safety Policy. A Fire Safety policy is an important part of your management system for compliance under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

This simple document can be used for any type of business, and should be used in conjunction with your “Fire Risk Assessment”, and the “Fire Safety Evacuation Procedures”.
This document should be signed by the responsible person in your company which should be the most senior person.

Your Fire Safety Policy will demonstrate the company’s commitment to ensuring the safety of employees and of any visitors to the company’s premises from the dangers of fire.

This Fire Safety Policy contains the following sections:

• General Policy
• Responsible Person – appointment and duties
• Fire Marshals
• Communication
• Training
• Equipment/Testing
• General Procedures
• Records (Log Book)
